1. Shirodhara
Shirodhara (Sheer-oh-DAR-ah) is a treatment that offers profound healing to the body and mind. A stream of warm oil is continuously poured over the middle of the forehead for 20-45 minutes. The stimulation of nerve plexuses on the forehead and scalp releases neurotransmitters and neurohormones that relax and reset the body at the deepest level. Tensions around the spine are relieved, further calming and clearing the mind.
Shirodhara facilitates the release of serotonin and can also elevate alpha and theta brain wave activity.
